CONWAY – After playing four top-25 nationally ranked teams all on the road to open the 2019 season, the 15
th-ranked Chanticleers will make their home debut when they host Campbell at CCU Soccer Stadium, Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.
The Chants went 2-2 in what may be the toughest schedule to open the season in all of NCAA Division I soccer. While the Camels are not ranked entering the game, they are 3-1-1 on the season and will present plenty of problems for the Chanticleers.
Campbell has already faced one Sun Belt team in Central Arkansas. The two teams played to a double-overtime standoff at 1-1. Campbell has also played UNC Greensboro and won 2-0. CCU faced UNC Greensboro in an exhibition match and also won 2-1.
Claudio Repetto and
Tyrone Mondi are leading the Chanticleers on offense. Repetto has five points on two goals and one assist, while Mondi has four points on two goals.
DZ Harmon leads the Chants in assists with two.
Goalkeeper
Alberto Ciroi has played in all four of the matches for CCU and has one shutout on the season with a 1.93 goals against average heading into Tuesday's affair.
Campbell has scored 10 goals with Adrian Morales leading the way with three. Thibaut Jacquel and Eren Elbustu have scored two goals each and Alemu Mercer-Miko has a team-high three assists.
