CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer program will end the home portion of the 2020-21 season when the Chanticleers play host to Georgia Southern, Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. ET.
The Chanticleers (3-0 / 3-0 SBC) will put their undefeated record on the line when the Eagles (1-5 / 0-3 SBC) visit the CCU Soccer Stadium for an important Sun Belt Conference showdown.
The first-place Chants will look to continue their excellence on the defensive end of the field in leading them to another Sun Belt title. The Chants have only given up two goals in its first three outings, with two shutouts.
Goalie
Tor Saunders has been a stalwart in the net for CCU as he has 19 saves and a .905 save percentage to go with his two shutouts. He has also been named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions, along with being named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
CCU's offense has seen a total of five different players score points in the first three matches of the season.
Marcelo Lage, a defender, has scored a team-high two goals and is coming off a week where he was named to the College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.com National Teams of the Week. He scored once in both wins over Central Arkansas last weekend with his overtime goal in Sunday's action the match-winner.
Connor Pugh,
Mael Couteau, and
Ethan Hackenberg have also found the back of the net with goals this season.
Marcello Jones is the fifth person to collect scoring points as he has all three of the team's assists so far this season.
