CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's basketball team will jump back into action when they host Columbia International Thursday, Dec, 3 at 6 p.m. ET.
It will be the second meeting between the two schools with CCU winning the first game 82-51 back in November of 2014.
The Chants are coming off a 117-68 season-opening win over North Carolina Wesleyan, a game that saw five Chanticleers make the CCU debuts. It was a game which also saw the return of
Ebrima Dibba who sat out the final 27 games last season due to an injury.
Three first-year Chants led CCU in the victory as
Deanthony Tipler came off the bench and hit six three-point field goals on his way to a game-high 28 points.
Essam Mostafa made his debut after redshirting last season and scored 21 points with a game-high seven rebounds while
Tyrik Dixon started at point guard for the Chants and scored 18 points with six assists.
The Rams have already played four games this season and will enter the contest 3 - 1. They are averaging over 91 points per game this season led by senior Corey Benton who is averaging over 22 points per game.
CIU has three others averaging in double digits as Skyler McKinney (17.8), Eric Graham (16.0), and Brandon Doss (10.5) all are averaging over 10 points per game.
A couple of notes to keep up with as head coach
Cliff Ellis continues his quest to break into the top-10 of all-time NCAA D-I collegiate basketball wins. He has 781 and only needs five more wins to crack the top-10 list.
Junior
DeVante' Jones continues his climb towards 1,000 career points. After scoring 13 in the season-opener, he now only needs 109 points to reach the milestone.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ (subscriptions required). Live stats will also be available at
