Coastal Carolina women’s tennis seeks first win of the 2020 season
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team will hit the road to Buies Creek, N.C. to battle former Big South foe Campbell on Wednesday, Feb. 12, with the first serve set for 2 p.m. ET.
The Chanticleers enter the match with an 0-1 record on the season while CU enters with a 4-1 mark on the year.
ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA
Coastal has competed just once on the 2020 season, falling 5-2 at Charlotte on Friday, Jan. 31.
The Chants opened the match getting the doubles point with the teams of Somer Dall-Bona/Jessie Mount and Maria Khomchenko/Valentina Urelli picking up wins to clinch the point.
In singles action, Iryna Vardanian was the lone CCU netter to score a point for Coastal.
ABOUT CAMPBELL
The Camels enter the contest riding a two-match winning streak. CU rebounded with victories over Elon (Feb. 8) and North Carolina Central (Feb. 10) after falling to in-state foe Appalachian State 6-1 on Feb. 1.
Campbell's Ana Castillo leads the team with a 4-1 record in the No. 1 position while Lea Cutura moved to 3-2 on the year on the No. 2 court.
In doubles action, Castillo and Cutura team up on the No. 1 court while Lou Regen and Ciara O'Toole partner in the No. 3 position.
