Sun Belt Conference Statement on Spring Sports Competitions

NEW ORLEANS – Due to the concerns surrounding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Sun Belt Conference has announced that regular-season competitions and conference championships in all sports are suspended indefinitely.

This decision was made in consultation with the league's Presidents, Chancellors and Directors of Athletics to protect the health and wellness of student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans.

This governing extends to all of our sponsored spring sports including women's lacrosse and beach volleyball which are affiliate members of the ASUN Conference.

"We are dealing with a transcendent and historical event and the Sun Belt's decision along with those across the collegiate athletics landscape are imperative in the face of this pandemic. We certainly feel devastated for our student-athletes that they can't continue competing and have the opportunity to pursue their championship goals. We send our heartfelt concern to all those working to manage this public health crisis," stated Matt Hogue, Director of Athletics at Coastal Carolina University.

Our Chanticleer Athletics Ticket Office is finalizing plans on reimbursement options for fans affected by the cancelation of our home events. Information related to refunds for both ticket and streaming packages will be available very soon.
