CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team ends its four-game home stand as they welcome Charlotte to Conway on Tuesday. The kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the CCU Soccer Stadium.

The Chanticleers enter Tuesday's match 2-3-4 overall and unbeaten in C-USA play with a 1-0-4 record, while the 49ers hold a 7-3-0 overall record and a 2-1-0 conference mark.
CCU is coming off a 2-0 loss to then No. 21 nationally-ranked Clemson at the CCU Soccer Stadium last Tuesday (Oct. 5). Clemson's Hamady Diop gave the visitors an early lead in the 13th minute as he connected on a loose ball at the top of the box, which he sent past Coastal goalkeeper
Joey Batrouni to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Much like the first half, Clemson struck early – this time just 11 minutes into the second half as Ousmane Sylla fired a shot off his right foot into the top right corner of the net, increasing the Tigers' lead to 2-0. However, The Chanticleers looked to answer in the second half as back-to-back shots from
Alvaro Garcia-Pasqual and
Michael Fowler were both saved.
SCOUTING THE 49ERS
- Charlotte is coming off a 3-1 victory over Old Dominion on Saturday, Oct. 9. The win is the fourth consecutive for the Niners over ODU. Preston Popp recorded a brace before Andre Vicharelli added another goal for the hosts.
- The 49ers were picked to finish second in the Conference USA All-Conference preseason poll behind the defending conference and National Champions, Marshall. Preston Popp, Alex Willis, and Joe Brito were also named to the C-USA preseason team.
- Charlotte was among one of four C-USA teams to be ranked in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll. The Niners were ranked No. 18. Marshall (1), Kentucky (No. 14), and Coastal (No. 25) marked the three other conference teams to be selected.
