VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team shot an even-par 280 in Monday's second round of the Evie Odom Invitational and moves into Tuesday's final round tied for third with a five-over 565 (285-280).
Tiffany Arafi had a spectacular day on the course finishing with a school-record 64 on her way to a six-under. Arafi's 64 also tied the Princess Anne Country Club course record.
The senior had six birdies and 12 pars on her way to the record, shooting a two-under 33 on the opening nine holes, and a four-under 31 on the back nine. She had consecutive birdies on holes 11, 12, and 13 and used the par-5's to her advantage with two birdies on those holes. Arafi is tied for second at five-under for the tournament and is only two shots off the lead heading into the final round.

Katie Quinney said. She did a great job of just staying in the moment and I actually had to tell her what she shot at the end of the round."
Freshman
Sara Sarrion continued her strong start to the fall season with a one-over 71. She had two birdies in the first nine holes but added three bogeys on the back nine to finish with her second consecutive 71. Her two-day total of 142 has her tied for 12th heading into the final round.
Sophia Carlsen and
Jenjira Jinangkul produced solid rounds with Carlsen shooting a two-over 72 and Jinangkul finishing with a three-over 73. Carlsen has a three-over 143 (71-72) heading into tomorrow's round and is tied for 19th. Jinangkul stands tied for 42nd with a seven-over 147 (74-73).
Caitlin Evans-Brand finished the day with a four-over 76 and heads into the final round tied for 45th at eight-over 148 (72-76).
For the second consecutive day, scoring was hard as only three teams managed to break par. Charlotte was one of those teams with a one-under in today's round to move into the lead with a one-over 561. The College of Charleston turned in the round's top score with a three-under and moved up five spots into second place with a four-over 564.
South Florida and Sacramento State are tied for third with CCU with a five-over 565 heading into the final round.
There are only 10 shots that separate the top eight teams, as Central Florida (+7, 567), North Florida (+9, 569) and Chattanooga (+11, 571) are all within striking distance in tomorrow's final day of action. Campbell (+20, 580) and Old Dominion (+20, 580) are tied for ninth.
Penn State (+37, 597), UNC Greensboro (+40, 600), and East Carolina (+54) round out the field.
The third round is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. ET with the Chanticleers scheduled to tee-off at 9:50 a.m. Live scoring can be found at
