CONWAY, S.C – Following a convincing 4-1 victory over Northern Kentucky last Saturday, the Coastal Carolina men's soccer team welcomes the College of Charleston to the CCU Soccer Stadium for their final regular season match of the 2021 season. The kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET in Conway.
Notably, Wednesday will also be senior night for the Chanticleers.

CCU enters Wednesday with an overall record of 5-4-4 and finished its first year as a member of Conference USA with a record of 3-1-4. CofC holds an overall record of 5-7-3 and tallied a 1-6-1 record in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Alvaro Garcia-Pasqual started the scoring efforts for the Chanticleers and the freshman netted his fifth goal of the season on a pass from teammate
Olle Brorsson in the 11th minute. Following a handball call on NKU, Coastal was awarded a penalty kick which
Michael Fowler converted in the 41st minute to give the hosts a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
Fowler netted his second goal of the match, to earn his first career brace, in the 50th minute on a cross from
Alex Kinateder before
Marcello Jones joined the scoring party for his third goal of the season. The Norse tallied their lone goal of the match in the 85th minute.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
- Charleston is coming off a 7-0 loss to Northeastern last Saturday (Oct. 30) to finish CAA play. The Cougars defeated C-USA member and in-state foe South Carolina 1-0 to kick off the 2021 regular season.
- Cameron Smith returns for his senior season after earning third team All-CAA honors last year. Smith had two shutouts, including a win over No. 16 Coastal Carolina, and made 24 saves. He was a two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Week during the Spring 2021 season and ranked second in the CAA with an .828 save percentage.
- Jake Nicholson, a third team All-CAA performer in 2019, is back for his senior season. Nicholson led the Cougars with 16 shots and six shots on goal a year ago. Junior Cas Van Altena and sophomore Jakob Kristensen scored goals last season also return for CofC.
