DALLAS – Conference USA released its 2021 Men's Soccer All-Academic Team on Friday afternoon, recognizing student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom. Coastal Carolina's Nicholas Itopoulos was among 11 student-athletes who were honored

Itopoulos has appeared and started all 14 matches to date this season, recording 1,338 total minutes on the Chanticleer backline. He has played in 45 career matches for CCU, earning 42 starts, while recording one goal on 14 shots (four on goal), and notching one helper. Itopoulos' work in the classroom previously landed him on the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team, 2021 Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll, 2021 Dean's List, and the 2019-20 Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List.

Seven schools are represented with Charlotte, FIU, Florida Atlantic, and University of Kentucky each having two student-athletes earn spots on the lists, while Coastal Carolina, Marshall, and Old Dominion each had one.  

Student-athletes honored all had at least a 3.5 GPA and featured majors in Business Administration, Communications, Economics, History, Sport Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Criminal Justice. Three graduates were chosen who are currently pursuing master's degrees at their respective universities.

Coastal Carolina will now get set for the Conference USA tournament that kicks off Nov. 10-14 in Charlotte, N.C.
