CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team, which has received votes in the top 25 each of the last two weeks, will welcome Saint Mary's College of California to the HTC Center on Wednesday, Dec. 15 for a midweek matchup. The opening tip is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET.
The Chanticleers are off to a program-best 8-0 start after dispatching Wesleyan College 116-39 last Tuesday, while the Gaels enter the contest with a 5-4 record after falling to No. 2-nationally ranked N.C. State 101-73 on Sunday, Dec. 12.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs as well as the first meeting between head coach
Jaida Williams and her college coach at Cal Poly Pomona Paul Thomas.

On the defensive end of the floor, Blount leads the team in defensive rebounds by grabbing 6.7 defensive rebounds per contest, while teammate
Janeen Camp has blocked 22 shots over the first eight games. As a team, CCU is allowing just 41.9 points per game while holding opponents to a 27.8 shooting percent.
ABOUT ST. MARY'S COLLEGE of CALIFORNIA
St. Mary's is averaging 67.1 points per game while shooting 39.6 percent from the floor and 28.6 percent from three-point range. The Gaels are led by Taycee Wedin (17.0 points per game) and Ali Bamberger (15.4 points per game) while Bamberger leads the team with 18 assists.
Defensively for the Saint Mary's, Bamberger leads the team by grabbing 11.1 rebounds per game while Brianna Simonich and Amy West have a team-high six steals each. As a team, the Gaels are allowing their opponents to shoot 39.9 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from long range while giving up 70.8 points per contest.
