CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will host the Coastal Carolina Christmas Classic, on Saturday, Dec. 18 and Sunday, Dec. 19. The Chanticleers will welcome Florida A&M, Radford, and College of Charleston to the HTC Center as the teams will play two games each.
Coastal is looking to rebound from a 61-58 heartbreaking loss on Wednesday to Saint Mary's College of California. CCU will take on the Florida A&M Rattlers on Saturday, at 2 p.m. ET and the Radford Highlanders on Sunday, at 4:30 p.m. ET, while College of Charleston will play the Highlanders on Saturday and the Rattlers on Sunday, at 4:30 p.m. ET and 2 p.m. ET, respectively.
COASTAL vs. FLORIDA A&M HISTORY
The Chanticleers and Florida A&M have never met before this weekend's matchup. Coastal enters play with an 8-1 overall record while FAMU comes to Conway, S.C. with an 0-8 record.
COASTAL vs. RADFORD HISTORY
Radford leads the overall series 44-19, with the last meeting coming in February 2016 in Conway, S.C. with the Highlanders picking up a 49-36 win over the Chants. The series began in 1987, with the Chants dropping the first nine contests before earning their first win.

Aja Blount leads the program with an average of 17.2 points per game while senior
Tyra Brown is second averaging 9.4 points per contest. True freshman
Arin Freeman is leading the team in helping her teammates score as she handed out 29 assists in the first nine games. The Chants are averaging 76.1 points per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the hardwood.
On the defensive end of the floor, Blount is the team's top rebounder having grabbed 86 on the season to average 9.6 boards per game while
Janae Camp is second on the team with 6.2 rebounds per game. Senior
Janeen Camp has blocked 23 shots over the first nine contests. Defensively, CCU is allowing just 44.0 points per game, while holding opponents to a 29.1 shooting percent.
ABOUT FLORIDA A&M
Florida A&M is averaging 47.8 points per game in its first eight games of the year while hitting 30.1 percent of their shots. The Rattlers offense is led by Dylan Horton with 14.0 points per game while Anisja Harris is chipping in 9.5 points per contest.
Defensively, FAMU is allowing their opponents to shoot 42.5 percent from the field while allowing 72.6 points per game. Malerie Brooks and Staysha Allen are the top rebounders grabbing 47 and 45 rebounds, respectively. Horton and Anisah Doublas lead the team with 10 and nine steals, respectively.
ABOUT RADFORD
Radford enters play averaging 61.1 points per game in its first nine games of the year while hitting 41.0 percent of their shots. The Highlanders offense is led by the duo of Bridget Birkhead and Ashley Tudor with 10.1 and 7.8 points per game, respectively.
Defensively, RU is allowing their opponents to shoot 40.3 percent from the field while allowing 64.9 points per game. Rachel LaLonde and Tudor lead the team with 5.4 and 4.3 rebounds per game, respectively. Kyanna Morgan leads the Highlanders defense with 11 steals on the season.
