CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse heads out on the road, Saturday, Feb. 20, as the Chanticleers will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to take on the Big South's Winthrop Eagles. The opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET and is scheduled to be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Chanticleers will look for their first-ever victory (0-8) over the Eagles as CCU will play its seventh consecutive match away from Conway.
Coastal (1-0) opened the 2021 season in dominating fashion by defeating Radford 17-3 on Wednesday, Feb. 17, while Winthrop (1-0) defeated the visiting Presbyterian Blue Hose 19-6.

Samantha Courtemanche (4 goals, 1 assist) leads the CCU attack with five points (4 goals, 1 assist) while
Megan Bozzi (3 goals, 1 assist) is second on the team with four points.
Lauren Cremen tallied her first career hat trick with three goals for three points.
Defensively, the Chants were led by sophomore goalkeeper
Claire Martell who allowed just three goals while facing 17 shots on goal. She tallied eight saves for a stellar .727 save percentage and earned her first collegiate victory in her first career start.
Redshirt senior
Anya McSorley won a career-high four draw controls and tied career highs by causing three turnovers and scooping three ground balls. Fellow defender
Emily D'Orsaneo marked a career-high in causing four turnovers and grabbing five ground balls.
ABOUT WINTHROP
Winthrop's offensive attack is led by Bianca Tedesco with eight points (1 goal, 7 assists). The Eagles had a trio of players to aid Tedesco on the offensive end, as Alyssa Angelo (4 goals) and Lauren Morris (3 goals and 1 assist) each added four points and Lauren Asher followed with three goals.
On the defensive end, the goalkeeping tandem of Kelsey Johnson and Sara McGuire each saw action and allowed just six goals, three goals each. McGuire saw the bulk of the action and tallied four of the Eagles' five saves.
Rachel Miller was the most disruptive on the defensive end for the Eagles, causing four turnovers with McKenna Blick and Angelo each causing three turnovers. Kimora Bailey scooped up five ground balls.
