CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina women's basketball will look to end an eight-game skid in the Sun Belt Conference when the Chanticleers host Appalachian State on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. ET in The HTC Center.

Coastal (3-9, 0-8 SBC) posted a 3-1 non-conference record but has not won since a 66-60 victory over UNC Pembroke back on December 11, 2020.  Junior forward Aja Blount is leading the way for the Chants as they look to end the streak at home.  Blount, a preseason All-Sun Belt Conference selection, ranks fourth in the conference in scoring at 14.0 points per game, 13th in rebounding with 6.7 rebounds per game, and leads the league in free throw percentage at 87.8 percent.  She will enter this game against the Mountaineers having hit 17 consecutive free throws over the last four games.

Joining Blount to lead the Chants is sophomore Deaja Richardson, who transferred to Coastal after one season at Tennessee State.  The guard has started the last five games and is averaging 10.1 points and 1.6 steals per game on the season.

Senior Tiarra Davis has raised the level of her game recently as she came off of the bench this past weekend against South Alabama to double her scoring output on the season.  Averaging 7.0 points per game entering the South Alabama series, Davis came off of the bench to score 16 and 12 points, respectively, in the two outings to average 14 points on the weekend.

Appalachian State (8-10, 5-7 SBC) is led by senior guard Pre Stanley's 15.5 points per game.  Senior forward Lainey Gosnell adds 12.1 points per game and leads the Mountaineers on the boards with 7.5 rebounds per game.
