Conway, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team will head to the Carolina Challenge this weekend for a two-day tournament on Saturday, March 13, and Sunday, March 14. The Chanticleers will play one match each versus No. 16 South Carolina, Jacksonville, Southern Miss, and Mercer.
Last time out, Coastal went 2-1 overall at the Georgia State Day of Duals, posting a sweep over Chattanooga at 5-0 in the first-ever meeting and a 3-2 win against the Mercer Bears for a second consecutive win.
The Chanticleers were led by the No. 4 flight of
Carli Ginther and
Emma Gonzalez who went 2-1 on the weekend with wins against Chattanooga and Mercer.
The No. 1 flight of sophomores
Irena Drobnjak and
Sarlota Svobodova also went 2-1 at the day of duals with wins against Mercer and Chattanooga.
The Jacksonville Dolphins enter this weekend's action with a 2-4 record having played at the Tampa Invitational last week.
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles enter the weekend's action with a 1-7 record having played at the Horned Frog Challenge where they picked up a 3-2 win against Central Arkansas on March 5.
The Mercer Bears enter the midweek action with a 5-6 record having played at the Georgia State Day of Duals this week, picking up a 5-0 sweep against Chattanooga.
The South Carolina Gamecocks enter this weekend's tournament action with a 5-3 record last playing at the Coastal Carolina Invitational where they picked up three wins.
