CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team was once again honored for their academic excellence as the Chants earned the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT!.
In addition, the Chants earned Honor Roll distinction. The Honor Roll represents the top 20 percent of the team grade point averages in the respective divisions.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. A total of 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned the honor this year.
The Chanticleer beach volleyball program ended the 2024-25 year with a 3.788 combined GPA, marking the eighth-straight season (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) that the program has been recognized by the AVCA. Their spring semester GPA of 3.824 was the second-highest in program history.
The team's cumulative GPA was also the best among all women's teams in the department for the 2024-25 academic year.
