CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will host Southern Conference foe Mercer on Friday, April 16, in Brooks Stadium on the campus of Coastal Carolina University. The opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
Coastal enters play this weekend at 7-6 on the season and 1-1 in SoCon play while the Bears enter the contest at 4-5 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
The Chants hold a 5-0 advantage in the all-time series over Mercer including a 17-5 home victory in April of 2019.

The Chanticleers have eight players in double digits for points with
Samantha Courtemanche and
Kayla Downey leading the team in goals scored with 29 apiece. Courtemanche leads the team with 25 assists and 54 points while Downey is second with 17 assists. Sophomore
Lauren Cremen is third with 24 goals for 24 points while junior
Megan Bozzi (16 goals, five assists) is fourth with 21 points on the year. True freshman
Monica Manley and graduate student
Abbey Buchanan are tied for fifth with 12 goals each while redshirt senior
Megan Busch (seven goals and 11 assists) is close behind with 18 points.
Defensively, the Chants are led by redshirt freshman goalkeeper
Claire Martell who has allowed 135 goals while facing 239 shots on goal. She has tallied 103 saves for a .431 save percentage and has earned all seven wins on the season. The Verbank, N.Y. native has also caused eight turnovers and grabbed up 28 ground balls.
Graduate students
Anya McSorley and
Emily D'Orsaneo aide in the defensive third by causing 23 and 17 turnovers, respectively.
Sarah Trupp, a graduate transfer, has added 14 caused turnovers while scooping up 19 ground balls while D'Orsaneo and McSorley have 28 and 27 ground balls apiece, respectively.
ABOUT MERCER
The Bears are paced by Hailey Rhatigan with 22 goals and nine assists for 31 points while top-goal scorer Lily Morin is second in points with 27 points on 25 goals and two assists. Mercer's offensive duo is aided by Maddie Koury (11 goals, 14 assists) and Chloe Schaeffer (15 goals, seven assists) with 25 and 22 points, respectively, while Shannon Urey, Eva Thorn, and Erin Degnan have contributed 19, 18, and 11 points apiece.
On the defensive third, Iseabal Cryne has started all nine contests in goal with Kathryn Vanderlinde having made six appearances, also. Cryne has allowed 90 goals while making 58 saves in earning three of the Bears' four wins while Vanderlinde has made 18 saves and allowed 29 goals for a 1-1 record.
Ainsley Malamala leads the team with 10 caused turnovers while Kileigh Casey and Rhatigan have added nine and eight caused turnovers, respectively. The trio of Cryne, Morin, and Malamala also have 16, 13, and 12 ground balls, respectively.
