CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's golf team will tee off at the 2021 Sun Belt Men's Golf Championship at the Mystic Creek Golf Club in Dorado, Ark. on Sunday, April 25, to Wednesday, April 28.

The tournament will consist of 54 holes of stroke play over three days on the par-72, 7,181-yard course. The teams will tee off from split tees, beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET, with six teams teeing off on No. 1 and six teams starting at No. 10.

The top four teams from the 54-hole stroke play event will advance to match play on Wednesday, April 28. The semifinal matches will tee off beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET—with the No. 4-seed and the No. 1-seed on No. 1 and the No. 3-seed and the No. 2-seed on No. 10. The championship match will tee off from No. 1 following the conclusion of the semifinal matches.

The Chants will send six players to the championship this week in Zack Taylor, Seth Taylor, States Fort, Tyler Gray, Jorgen Viken, and Gavin Noble. Only Zack Taylor and Fort have ever played in a Sun Belt Championship Tournament before.

CCU's Zack Taylor, who was named the Sun Belt Men's Golfer of the Week on March 18, has played in all nine events on the season for the Chanticleers. The fifth-year senior leads the team and is second in the Sun Belt with a 71.54 season stroke average on the year, which ranks fourth all-time in CCU's single-season history. He has recorded four top-10 individual finishes on the year, including winning the ECU Intercollegiate, and has carded 16 rounds of par or better on the season, including five rounds in the 60's. His low-round 63 at the Stitch Intercollegiate last time out was tied for the lowest 18-hole individual score in CCU history.

Like Zack Taylor, Seth Taylor has played in all nine events on the season for the Chants and has posted a season stroke average of 74.08 over 26 rounds of play on the year. The sophomore has carded seven rounds of par or better on the season, including three rounds in the 60's and a low-round 67 at the Stitch Intercollegiate. The Gaffney, S.C. native has recorded three top-20 individual finishes on the season, including posted a sixth-place finish at the AGT Intercollegiate with rounds of 73, 69, and 69 for a 54-hole score of 210, 6-under par. He was also the top CCU golfer at The Hayt, placing in a tie for 18th overall with rounds of 74, 74, and 71 and a 54-hole score of 218, +2.

Fort, the most experienced golfer on the Chants' roster this season, was named the Sun Belt Men's Golfer of the Week on Feb. 17. The fifth-year senior has played in six events during the spring season after opting out of the fall season and is second on the team with a 72.00 stroke average, the best season stroke average of his CCU career to date.

Fort has recorded three top-25 individual finishes on the year, including winning the AGT Intercollegiate with rounds of 70, 70, and 65 for a 54-hole score of 205, 11-under par. The Georgia native has carded 10 rounds of par or better over the spring, including three rounds in the 60's and shot a low-round 65 in the final round of the AGT Intercollegiate, which is tied for the eighth-lowest 18-hole score in CCU history.

Joining Zack Taylor and Fort as an individual medalist this year, Gray has played in nine events on the season, playing in the CCU lineup in eight tournaments. He has posted a 73.85 stroke average over 26 rounds of play on the year and recorded nine rounds of par or better and two rounds in the 60's, including a low-round 66 at the AGT Intercollegiate. His low round of 66 at the AGT Intercollegiate is tied for the 14th-lowest 18-hole score by an individual in CCU history.

Gray has also picked up two top-10 finishes on the season, including being an individual medalist at the Intercollegiate at the Grove, finishing in a three-way tie for first at 140, -4, with rounds of 68 and 72. He also placed in a tie for eighth at the ECU Intercollegiate with rounds of 71, 74, and 73 for a 54-hole score of 218, +2, and was the top CCU performer at the Graeme McDowell Intercollegiate, finishing in a tie for 11th overall with three-straight rounds of 72, even par, for a tournament score of 216, even par.

Like Seth Taylor, Gray, and Noble, Viken will be playing in his first Sun Belt Championship this week.
