CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina softball team extended their winning streak to seven games as they swept the UT Arlington Mavericks (14-28, 7-10 SBC) on Sunday at St. John Stadium by the scores of 6-1 and 5-2.

In the top of the first inning, the Mill Creek, Wash., allowed three walks to start the game, but the righty worked her way out of trouble by striking out Madison Miller and Courtney Ogle, and induced a ground out of opposing starting pitcher Kenedy Hines.

The sophomore stranded 11 in runners in scoring position throughout game one and allowed runners in scoring position in five of the seven innings but gave up just one run..

The three, four, and five hitters for CCU batted 3-for-6 and five RBI in the game one win.

On her senior day, number three hitter Stavi Augur batted 1-for-3 in game one with a two-out RBI single to score Taylor Sweigart and put the Chants up 4-0.

After CCU's Sydney Guess extended her team's lead to 5-0 in the top bottom of the third, the Chants picked up their final run of the game on cleanup hitter Kayla Rosado's fifth home run of the season.

The Mavericks' KJ Murphy knocked in the lone run for UTA in the 6-1 loss with an RBI single in the top of the sixth against De Jesus.

Just like De Jesus did in game one, Brabham allowed the Mavericks to put runners in scoring position in five of the seven innings but stranded double-digit (10) runners on base.

UT Arlington's Reagan Hukill was responsible for the pair of runs in game two for UTA, with a pair of RBI singles in the top of the first and third.

UTA starter Jo Jo Valencia took a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Chants' Makiya Thomas put the teal and bronze ahead, 3-2, with her third home run of the season.
