CONWAY, S.C. – The (RV) Coastal Carolina men's soccer program will make the trip across county lines to face off against in-state and C-USA foe South Carolina, Saturday afternoon in Columbia. The match is set for 7:00 p.m. ET inside Stone Stadium.

The Chanticleers are fresh off of a 3-3 draw with then No. 7 nationally-ranked and defending national champions Marshall on Saturday, Sept. 4 in Huntington.
Marshall tallied its first goal of the match in the 14th minute. Coastal Carolina answered in the 20th minute as
Alvaro Garcia-Pasqual recorded his first goal of the match connecting with the bottom corner of the net. CCU took the lead in the 32nd minute, 2-1, as Marshall tallied an own-goal. Just three minutes later, Marshall tied the contest at 2-all.
Following the break, The Herd found the advantage in the 74th minute before Garcia-Pasqual recorded his second goal of the day, earning his first career brace, just four minutes later in the 78th minute as he connected on a pass from
Emile Rzepecki to tie the match at 3-all.
Notably, following his performance on the road against No. 10 Marshall, Garcia-Pasqual was named the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week.

SCOUTING THE GAMECOCKS
- In April of 2021, South Carolina announced the hiring of Tony Annan as head coach of the Gamecocks. Annan becomes just the second head coach in the history of the program following Mark Berson's 43 years at the helm.
- The Gamecocks finished the 2020-2021 season with an overall record of 8-7-1 and 2-4-1 in C-USA play. South Carolina was picked seventh in the C-USA Men's Soccer Preseason Poll.
- Brian Banahan returns to South Carolina for his junior season. Banahan led the Gamecocks in points, goals, and shots in the 2020-21 season. He finished the year with 16 points on seven goals and two assists. Ryan Bilichuk manned the most games at goalkeeper last season. Heading into his redshirt-junior season, Bilichuk appeared in 13 matches for South Carolina last season. He recorded 50 saves with a 6-5-1 record, including a solo shutout.
