CONWAY, S.C. – Fresh off its first win as a member of Conference USA, the (RV) Coastal Carolina men's soccer program welcomes USC Upstate to the CCU Soccer Stadium Tuesday night. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.

The Chanticleers tallied their first win of the 2021 season over in-state and C-USA foe South Carolina on Saturday night in Columbia, 4-1.
CCU tallied its first goal of the night in the ninth minute, as
Marcelo Lage was able to find the back of the net heading in a pass from
Dimitris Moraitakis. South Carolina was shown a red card in the 23rd minute and had to play with 10 men the remainder of the contest.
South Carolina tied the contest at 1-all just 12 minutes following the halftime break.
Danny Cabrera's shot in the 69th minute, which proved to be the game-winner, put CCU up 2-1 as he connected with the bottom left corner of the net.
Alvaro Garcia-Pasqual tallied his third goal in two matches in the 76th minute before Cabrera tallied his second goal of the night, his first career brace, in the 83rd minute.
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
- USC Upstate finished the 2020-21 season with an overall record of 6-4-2 as well as a 6-1-1 mark in the Big South. The Spartans fell to High Point 3-1 in the Big South Championship final on April 17.
- Redshirt junior Mario Arrocha finished third in voting for the Big South Preseason Offensive Player of the Year after collecting three first-place votes and 14 total points. Arrocha helped lead the Spartan attack last season with a team second-most 34 shots and he started all nine matches in which he appeared. He netted two goals on the year and three assists, two of them coming in a 3-2 win over Asheville.
- USC Upstate returns eight starters and 17 total letterwinners this season. Returners include Big South second-team All-Conference and All-Freshman forward Jeremy Montero, Second-Team All-Conference defender Hayden Anderson, and All-Freshman defender Elias Ehlin. Midfielder Paul Bobai also returns after earning Honorable Mention All-Conference honors last season.
