CONWAY, S.C. – The (RV) Coastal Carolina men's soccer program remains at home and welcomes UNC Greensboro to the CCU Soccer Stadium for a non-conference match-up on Tuesday, Sept. 28. The kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

The Chanticleers head into Tuesday's match with an overall record of 2-1-4 and hold an unbeaten 1-0-4 mark in Conference USA play. The Spartans enter the matchup at 6-2-1 overall and 1-0-0 in Southern Conference play.
CCU earned another point in the C-USA standings to remain atop and unbeaten in the conference, battling Florida Atlantic to a 1-1 double-overtime draw last Tuesday (Sept. 21).
The Owls needed just 11 minutes to break the 0-0 scoreline, as Tom Abrahamsson connected on a pass from Alonso Coello Camarero nearly 45-yards out and fired his shot into the back of the net, putting the visitors up 1-0.
The Chants tried to net the equalizer minutes later, as
Olle Brorsson connected on a corner kick in the 28th minute that he headed to the wide left of the goal for the Chants' first shot of the match.
In a highly competitive match that saw eight yellow cards and a red, Coastal equalized in the 79th minute as
Marcello Jones recorded his second goal in as many matches on a rebounded ball off the FAU keeper on a shot from
Michael Fowler to tie the match a 1-all.
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
- UNC Greensboro finished the 2020-2021 season with an overall record of 9-3-2 and a 3-1-2 mark in SoCon play. The Spartans fell to Omaha in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, 3-2.
- Last time out for UNCG, the Spartans handed then-No. 2 nationally-ranked Clemson a 3-1 loss in Greensboro on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
- During its five-match unbeaten streak, UNCG has outscored opponents, 21-1, while also scoring 18 of its 28 goals this season on Saturdays. The Spartans' 28 goals are among the nation's best.
