CONWAY, S.C. – The (RV) Coastal Carolina men's soccer program looks to earn its first win of the 2021 season as they Chanticleers take on the defending National Champions and No. 7 nationally-ranked Marshall Thundering Herd Saturday afternoon in Huntington, W. Va. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET.

The Chants are coming off a 1-0 loss on the road to, then No. 24 ranked, High Point last Sunday. HPU's MD Myers goal in the 13th minute of the match was enough to lead the Panthers to the one-goal win.
CCU's
Alvaro Garcia-Pasqual had a match-high eight shots with two of those on goal. One of those shots just missed giving the Chants the early lead in the first half when his shot bounced off the crossbar.
The goalies for both teams were the stars in the contest as CCU freshman
Joey Batrouni came up with a career-high eight saves on the road.
SCOUTING THE HERD
- Marshall was unanimously selected as the Conference USA preseason favorite and led the preseason team with five total student-athletes. Senior forward Vitor Dias was named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and senior center back Nathan Dossantos was honored as the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Oliver Semmle, Max Schneider, and Milo Yosef were also named to the C-USA All-Preseason team.
- The Herd finished the unusual 2020-2021 season with an overall record of 13-2-3 overall, 6-0-1 in C-USA play and a historic run that earned them the program and schools' first ever national championship in the division I era.
- Only Jamil Roberts, who scored the game-winner against Indiana, will be missing from the starting lineup. The Herd returns 83 percent of its goal scoring, 83 percent of the assists and 92 percent of the minutes played.
