Chants return to action for the first time in a month
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina cross country teams will return to competition for the first time in a month this Friday, Oct. 14, at the ECU Pirate Invitational at Lake Kristi in Greenville, N.C.
The Chanticleers home meet, the Chanticleer Challenge, on Sept. 30 was canceled as the head coaches of the teams participating in the meet were all in agreement to cancel the two races due to the impending heavy rainfall and the chance of unfavorable race conditions that would accompany Hurricane Ian.
Both the women's and men's teams will have a full roster compete at the meet.
On the women's side, the Chanticleers will send veteran runners Ashley Rulison, Molly Jones, and Amilia Wise-Sweat, as well as first-year Chants Kylee Denver, Taylor Houston, Ella Lehmann, Tiarra Smith, and Ellie Wolski.
The men's team will send six runners to compete at the Pirate Invitational in Jack Benoit, Ethan Blackwelder, Tomas Duncan, Trey Kraimer, Camren Stamp, and Hunter White, as all six have already run for the Teal and Bronze this season.
The women's 6k race will begin at 4 p.m. ET, with the men's 8k meet set to follow at 4:45 p.m. ET.
A link to the live results can be found on the Track & Field/Cross Country schedule page.
