Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team returns to the CCU Soccer Stadium to welcome Sun Belt Conference newcomer Southern Miss on Thursday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

COASTAL VS. SOUTHERN MISS
Thursday night will mark the first-ever meeting between CCU and Southern Miss in program history.

LAST TIME OUT
CCU picked up its first points of the season in a 2-2 draw on the road at Louisiana on Sunday, Oct. 1.

The Chants played with 10 on the field for nearly 60 minutes after Carmen Gutierrez was called for a foul and shown a straight red card in the 37th minute.

Senior Megan Brouse wasted no time recording her team-leading seventh goal of the season three minutes into the match. The Chants' forward picked up a ball just past midfield that she was able to get around the Cajuns' defender before going one-on-one with the Louisiana goalkeeper to put CCU up 1-0.

In traffic, Louisiana's Perri Belzer played a ball off a corner kick that she edged up over the head of Hope Morrow and off the crossbar to level the score at 1-1 in the 26th minute.

The Chanticleers were awarded a penalty kick following a foul called in the box on the Ragin' Cajuns in the 40th minute. Sarah Allen notched her first goal of the season as the redshirt senior converted the shot to give Coastal a 2-1 advantage.

Louisiana earned a free kick, which Karleen Bedre sent into the box that connected with the head of teammate Hailly Waterhouse who put the ball past a diving Morrow to even the score at 2-2 in the 56th minute.

The Ragin' Cajuns looked to find the difference maker in the 69th minute, but the shot went off the crossbar and into the hands of Morrow.
