CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will open the 2022 season with the Kickin' Chicken Classic, Feb. 11-13, at St. John Stadium. The Chanticleers will host East Carolina, Georgetown, and Purdue on the opening weekend of play.
SCHEDULE FOR THE KICKIN' CHICKEN CLASSIC
*The three-day tournament will consist of four games on Friday and Saturday, concluded by two games on Sunday. Coastal will play the final games of each day.

Home Sweet St. John
The Chants will enjoy playing at home in St. John Stadium for the first month of the season, playing all 14 scheduled games at home.
Following the three-tournament homestand, CCU will hit the road for the Bubly Invitation hosted by Florida (March 4-6) before returning home to host Sun Belt foe Troy (March 11-13) and Charleston Southern (March 15).
Sun Belt Preseason
Coastal Carolina was picked by the Sun Belt Conference head coaches to finish seventh in the 2022 Sun Belt Preseason Coaches Poll. Two-time defending Sun Belt regular-season and tournament champion, No. 23-nationally ranked Louisiana (97 points, seven first-place votes) was picked to finish first.
Junior
Iyanla De Jesus was the lone Chanticleer to be named to the All-Sun Belt preseason team. De Jesus appeared in 33 games, earning 28 starts last season. At the plate, she hit .254 with two home runs and 12 RBIs. In the circle, she made 21 appearances, including making 12 starts.
