Chants Post Seven Top-10 Individual Finishes on Saturday at Liberty

Chanticleers recorded three top-three finishes on the day

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Coastal Carolina women's indoor track & field team recorded three top-three finishes and a total of six top-10 individual finishes on day two of the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Saturday in Lynchburg, Va.

CCU freshman jumper Camryn Lorick recorded a third-place finish on the day with a height of 1.64 meters in the women's high jump event, while sophomore Shani'a Bellamy turned in a third-place finish in the women's 300-meter dash with a time of 39.50, the second-fastest time in CCU history for the sprint event behind only Erica Peake and her time of 38.89 in 2013.

Behind Bellamy in the 300-meter finals was fellow sophomore, Lauren Gordon, with her time of 40.32, which was good enough for ninth overall on the day and ranks as the seventh-best time on Coastal's all-time indoor track & field performance list.

In the 60-meter hurdles finals, it was sophomore Sydney Clemens who posted a top-three finish, as the sophomore turned in a career-best time of 8.55 to place third overall. Her time of 8.55 was the fourth-best time in CCU history and put her four spots in front of Bellamy who recorded her second top-10 finish of the day, placing seventh with a time of 8.86.

Nikki Boon also posted a top-10 finish on the track on Saturday, as she ran across the finish line to place seventh overall in the women's 500-meters with her time of 1:21.42, while in the 200-meters dash, freshman Mekenze Kelley finished sixth overall with her new personal-best time of 24.47, which moved her up to seventh on the CCU all-time performance list.
