Melissa Jefferson-Wooden Defends National Title in 200m

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Melissa Jefferson-Wooden defended her national title in the 200m at the Toyota USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in New York City on Sunday.
The former Chanticleer ran a season-best 21.69 in the 200m to win back-to-back national titles in the event and her fourth national title overall. Last year, Jefferson-Wooden became the first woman since 2003 to win the national title in the 100 and 200 meters.
The Georgetown, South Carolina native competed for the Chanticleers from 2019 to 2022 and won the outdoor national championship in 2022 in the 100 meters and indoor national championship in the 60 meters.
