CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's golf team is set to host the General Hackler Championship Sunday and Monday, March 13-14, at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The two-day event consists of the first two rounds being played on Sunday, with the final 18 holes completing play on Monday at the par-72, 7,233-yard course.
The event always hosts some of the top programs in the nation and this year is no different as 10 of the 15 teams making the trip are ranked among the top-50 teams in the nation. Leading that group is 11-time NCAA National Champion Oklahoma State, who is the second-ranked team in the nation.
Other top-50 ranked teams in the field include Auburn (No. 18), Louisville (No. 33), NC State (No. 34), East Tennessee State (No. 35), North Florida (No, 36), South Carolina (No. 38), Liberty (No. 39), Kent State (No. 46), and Virginia (No. 47).
Rounding out the participating teams are East Carolina, UNCG, UCF, and Penn State.
Not only are top-ranked teams coming to Myrtle Beach, but top-ranked golfers as well. Defending Hackler Champion Nick Gabrelicik from North Florida returns to defend his championship and is the No. 4 ranked collegiate golfer.

The PGA Tour takes the top-15 graduating seniors and awards them status to the developmental tour and the top-five finishers from that tour earn their Korn Ferry Tour card. Lopez Chacarra is currently ranked No. 3 in the PGA Tour, while Hall is ranked No. 10.
