CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will return to action on Friday, April 1, when the Chanticleers host the nationally-ranked No. 23 Jacksonville Dolphins in Conway, S.C. The opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at Brooks Stadium.
The Chants enter the week with a 4-5 overall record after their two-game winning streak was snapped at Vanderbilt last Sunday. The Dolphins are 5-3 on the year with wins over Furman, Harvard, and Virginia Tech. Jacksonville is currently ranked No. 23 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll.
COASTAL vs. JACKSONVILLE HISTORY
The two teams have met eight times with the Dolphins owning a 6-2 advantage in the overall series. However, the Chanticleers picked up a 13-12 overtime win over the No. 9 Dolphins in the last meeting on April 23, 2021. It was just the third time the two squads have met outside of ASUN play.

The Chants are led by
Kayla Downey with 26 points on 13 goals and 13 assists, while
Megan Bozzi (12 goals, 9 assists) and
Lauren Cremen (16 goals, 4 assists) follow just behind with 21 and 20 points, respectively.
Avery Snyder (23),
Avery McIlwaine (21), and
Abby Cooper (13) have been key in getting the offense started by winning a combined 57 draw controls.
Defensively, Coastal goalkeeper
Claire Martell has faced 232 shots and made 79 saves on the season, while
Marissa Munson has caused nine turnovers.
Claudia Kelly and
Avery Whitehead have chipped in defensively with eight and six caused turnovers, respectively.
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE
Jacksonville is led by Sarah Elms with 31 goals, while Jenny Kinsey and Molly Brock have 19 and 12 goals, respectively. The Dolphins' Elms also leads the team with 10 assists, while Brock (48), Casey Sullivan (21), and Megan Prescott (9) lead the team with a combined 78 draw controls.
On the defensive end, Addy Tysdal has started seven of the eight matches between the pipes and has made 59 saves while facing 147 shots. Sullivan has helped stop the opponents' offense from scoring by causing 12 turnovers, while Sullivan (12), Kaila Stasulli (9), and Beth Cornelius (9) have grabbed a combined 30-of-111 ground balls.
