ATLANTA, Ga. -  The Sandy Chants played not one, not two, but three matches on Wednesday at the Georgia State Day of Duals, going 2-1 overall with wins against Tusculum and Mercer. Their lone loss of the day came against host No. 19 Georgia State in the first match of the day.
 
With their 2-1 record on Wednesday, the Chanticleers improved to 8-3 on the season.
 
No. 19 Georgia State 5, Coastal Carolina 0
 
Coastal opened up the Day of Duals versus the host Georgia State, falling to the nationally-ranked No. 19 Panthers 5-0 in the first match of the day.

The Chants would battle in all five flights with the Panthers but ultimately were unable to steal a set from the home-standing Panthers.

At the No. 3 flight, Natalie Honzovicova and Ellie Hanford suffered their first loss of the season at 26-24, 21-6 to the duo of Maddy Delmonte and Eden Hawes.

At the No. 2 flight, the CCU pair of Sarah Riedell and Madie Lichty fell in straight sets 21-19, 21-17 to the reigning CUSA Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week in Kayla Whetstone and Yasmin Kuck, while at the No. 1 flight the Chanticleers' duo of Irena Drobnjak and Martine Kragholm pushed the team of Elise Saga and Kelly Dorn to an extra-point in the second set, falling 21-11, 22-20 for the match.
 
Coastal Carolina 3, Tusculum 2
 
Coastal would come back in the second match of the day and pick up a hard-fought 3-2 win over Tusculum.
 
The win pushed the Chants' record to 3-0 all-time versus the Pioneers on the sand.
 
The Chants would pick up wins from the top flight of Drobnjak and Kragholm, which won in straight sets over the top pair from Tusculum 21-13, 21-11, while the No. 3 pair of Handford and Honzovicova defeated the Pioneers' pair of Britney Shawel and Landry Tea by a score of 21-12, 21-17.
 
The duo of Riedell and Lichty defeated their opponent at the No. 2 flight by a score of 21-19, 21-16 to give the Sandy Chants the three wins needed to pick up the match win.

The Pioneers would pick up wins in straight sets on courts No. 4 and 5 to put the final match score at 3-2.
 
Coastal Carolina 4, Mercer 1

In their third match of the day, the Sandy Chants picked up a 4-1 win against Mercer. The win is the eighth consecutive victory over the Bears.

The Chants scored wins on courts No. 2 and 3, Lichty and Riedell defeated the Mercer duo of Nicole O'Mara and Sydney Benson 21-18, 21-15 on court No. 2, while the duo of Hanford and Honzovicova registered their 10th win on the season by upending the Bears' pair of Jordan Paddock and Reese Hood by the similar score of 21-15.

On court No. 5, Kalin Eske and Raychel Ehlers earned a straight-set victory over the Bears' team of Elena Sanfrey and Emily Earwood 21-17, 21-10, while at the No. 1 flight of Drobnjak and Kragholm rounded out the final session for the Chants with a three-set victory over Mercer's Olivia Boeve and Lexi Polychrones 21-16, 19-21, 15-12.

The Chants will be back in action this weekend, as they will travel to Charleston, S.C. to take part in the College of Charleston Classic from March 12-13.
