CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team will return home for a Sun Belt Conference match on Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m. ET against the Georgia State Panthers. The match will also be Senior Day for the Chants, as head coach
Chris Powers and the men's tennis program will recognize seniors
Federico Garnier,
Diego Giraldo,
Bastien Huon,
Niccolo Rossi, and
Daiki Tanabe prior to the start of the match.
In the series history, the Panthers have won three out of the four meetings. However, the clubs have split the last two contests, with the Chants claiming a 4-0 victory in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 6, 2019.
Tanabe has been playing well for the Chanticleers in singles action, spanning two different flights. In his last five outings, Tanabe has tallied five wins overall, with four of those occurring in the fifth flight.
Neil O'Connor has also notched a win in six of his last seven singles matches heading into play this weekend.
Huon came through with a clutch victory last Saturday in the road contest at Troy. With the overall match tied at three, Huon faced Pelayo Antuna and emerged with a 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-2 triumph to secure the overall match victory for CCU.
