CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will host its final home game of the 2022 season this week in an ASUN contest against the Kennesaw State Owls with the opening draw scheduled for noon ET on Saturday, April 23.
The Chanticleers are 5-9 on the year and 1-2 in the ASUN, having dropped their last contest against the Liberty Flames last Saturday at home.
The Owls enter play with a 10-5 record and 2-1 mark in conference play, including a pair of non-conference losses to Florida and Temple earlier this season.
COASTAL vs. KENNESAW STATE HISTORY
Saturday's contest will be the 10th meeting between the two teams with Coastal holding a 9-0 advantage in the overall series. The Chants claimed a 15-7 home victory over the Owls in the last meeting on Feb. 27, 2021, recording their ninth straight victory in the series and fourth inside Brooks Stadium.

The Chants' scoring attack is led by
Lauren Cremen (25 goals),
Avery McIlwaine (19 goals),
Kayla Downey (18 goals), and
Megan Bozzi (16 goals), while
Abi George,
Avery Snyder, and
Hannah Close each have added 15, 11, and 10 goals, respectively.
Hannah Demis, who leads the ASUN in assists, and Downey are the top two assist leaders for the Chants with 20 and 16 assists, respectively, while three Chants in Snyder (32), McIlwaine (29), and
Abby Cooper (26) have combined for 83-of-181 draw controls to start the offensive attack.
Defensively, Coastal goalkeeper
Claire Martell has faced 371 shots and made 121 saves on the season.
Marissa Munson has caused 11 turnovers, while
Claudia Kelly,
Avery Whitehead, and Snyder have chipped in with 10, nine, and seven caused turnovers, respectively. Martell (25), Munson (17), and Kelly (12) have scooped up 54-of-180 ground balls so far this season.
ABOUT KENNESAW STATE
Kennesaw State is led by nations leader in goals scored in Siena Gore with 73 goals, while McKenzie Jackson and Chesslyn Lamar have contributed with 26 and 25 scores, respectively. KSU's Gore leads the team with 17 assists with Hannah Barth adding 16 assists on the season. Gore, Bailey Wilson, and Jackson get the offense started having won 127, 44, and 30 draw controls, respectively.
On the defensive end, Julia Weiss has started 14 of the 15 matches between the pipes and has made 61 saves while facing 208 shots. Rachel Price, Roslyn Talbert, and Gore have helped stop the opponents' offense from scoring by causing 13, 12, and 10 turnovers, respectively, while Payton Gregory (21), Gore (20), and Carson Pearson (20) have grabbed a combined 61-of-226 ground balls.
