HUNTSVILLE, Ala.– The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team suffered a 4-1 loss to the UAB Blazers on Thursday morning in the first round of the 2022 C-USA Beach Volleyball Championship in Huntsville, Ala.

The Blazers would race out to a 3-0 lead winning in straight sets on courts three, one, and four to pick up the win.

Coastal would get on the board with a win on court five from the duo of Carli Ginther and Raychel Ehlers, as the tandem defeated the UAB pair of Jessica Ennis and Ella Alexander 21-19, 21-16 for the Chants' lone win of the match.

The win was Ginther's 50th career win on the sand as a Chant.

The Blazers closed out the match with a three-set victory on court two to advance in the championship tournament with the 4-1 win.

Coastal (18-15) will be back in action tomorrow morning in the second round at 11:30 a.m. ET.
