
Chants Complete First Day of NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Regionals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Members of the Coastal Carolina men's track & field team began the competition on Wednesday at the NCAA Outdoor East Regionals.

Tyler Graves and Braydon Bennett both competed in the first round of the 110-meter hurdles, where Graves posted a personal-best time of 13.93 seconds, while Bennett completed the event in 14.04. Despite not qualifying for the quarterfinals, Graves' time of 13.93 was the fourth-best time in school history for the sprint hurdles event.

Graves also took part in the opening round of the 400-meter hurdles event, where he placed 13th overall with his time of 50.88 to advance to the quarterfinals on Friday evening.

Also competing for the Chanticleers on day one were Jake Heydon and David Ejumeta. Â Heydon placed 45th overall in the javelin with a mark of 56.89 meters, while Ejumeta posted a top-25 finish in the long jump event with a leap of 7.31 meters.

The women's track & field team will have several individuals compete tomorrow on day two of the NCAA Regionals.
