Kelley Advances to Semifinals of the 400-Meters at 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships

CALI, Colombia – Coastal Carolina's Mekenze Kelley turned in a time of 53.59 in her 400-meters heat on Monday, Aug. 2, to advance on to the semifinals of the event at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Columbia.
Kelley's time of 53.59 was the third-fastest in her preliminary heat and the 10th-fastest time overall. She was one of 24 athletes and one of just two Americans to qualify for the semifinals.
The semifinals of the 400-meters are scheduled for tomorrow, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m. ET., while the finals will take place on Aug. 4 (6:40 p.m. ET).
