CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer program returns home and kick off a two-game series at the CCU Soccer Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 31 as the Chanticleers host Charleston Southern.
CCU enters the match 0-2-1 overall while Charleston Southern sits at 2-1-0 overall.
COASTAL VS. CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
Wednesday will mark the 21st all-time meeting between the Chanticleers and Buccaneers. The series is tied at 8-8-4 overall, with CCU winning the last five matchups – including a 3-0 victory at home on Aug. 27, 2017.

CHANTS LAST TIME OUT
The Chanticleers fell on the road to the UNCW Seahawks on Sunday night, 3-1 in Wilmington, N.C.
UNCW tallied its first two goals of the match 13 minutes apart, as Jordan Faveri headed in a pass from teammate Talia Parrous in the 10th minute to make the score 1-0 in favor of the host. Madison Henry sent in a shot that found the head of Kayla Burroughs on a Seahawks' set piece to put the home team up 2-0 just 23 minutes into the match.
Behrmann cut UNCW's lead in half and scored the Chants' lone goal of the night to make the score 2-1 with just under 10 minutes to play in the contest. In traffic, the junior connected on a deflection off the Seahawks' keeper that she was able to send into the back of the net to get the Chants on the scoreboard.
However, just two minutes after Coastal Carolina's goal, UNCW tallied its final goal of the night when Talia Parrous' shot went off the crossbar and into the bottom left corner of the goal to make the score 3-1.
SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
- So far this season, Charleston Southern has tallied nine goals in three matches lead by Jena Knight who has notched nine goals and two assists (10pts) in 146 total minutes, with Dakota Fiedler in second tallying three goals in 151 minutes of action.
- After finishing the 2021 season 6-8-1 overall and 5-5-0 in Big South play, Charleston Southern was picked to finish sixth and earned 53 points in the 2022 Big South Preseason Poll.
- Jenna Moran returns in goal for the Buccaneers as the 2021 Goalkeeper of the Year and All-Big South First Team selection was also tabbed the 2022 Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year earlier this month. She finished the year with six shutouts, five of which came against Big South competition, and posted an .802 save percentage
