Cary, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team continued its run at the ITA Carolina Regionals today in Cary, N.C.
In the opening matches of day two, the Chants started with three singles matches in the consolation draw. Seniors Jesus Garcia, Ryuya Ata and Guilherme Toresan all advanced to tomorrow's round of 32 draw with opening round victories.
The second window of the day featured three doubles matches in the main draw's round of 64. The pairings of Rivers Cahill and Lucas Wayenburg and Ata and Carlos Berna Ruiz picked up another win, while seniors Toresan and Garcia fell short of the second round, losing to North Carolina Chapel Hill's Peter Murphy and Logan Zapp.
In the final action for the Chants on day two, Cahill and Wayenburg and Ata and Berna Ruiz continued their runs in the doubles bracket in the second round. Both pairs were eliminated in the round of 32, losing to ACC foes Clemson and Wake Forest.
The ITA Carolina Regionals from Cary, N.C. will continue tomorrow, with CCU's Garcia, Ata and Toresan starting in the singles consolation bracket at 9 a.m. ET.
