CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will travel to San Marcos, Texas, to take on the Texas State Bobcats in a midweek matchup on Oct. 5. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET.
 
Chant Talk

• Coastal has a 3-7-1, 0-3-1 Sun Belt record on the season.
• The Chants will be looking to pick up their first road win of the season as they sit on a 0-3-0 away record.
• Lou Martinet is the player to watch as she has tallied three goals and one assist during the last five matches for the Chants. The redshirt junior has also posted a 0.750 shots on goal percentage with six of her eight shots hitting the mark.
• Both Rami Rapp and Julia Ziegenfuss notched their first assist of the season versus Arkansas State; the Chants now have five players all recording one assist on the year.
• The Chants need to strike early as they have a 0-6-0 record when their opponents score first. However, they have a perfect winning record when scoring two or more goals.

 
Last Time Out

• The Chants dropped their third conference match of the year in a 2-1 loss to Arkansas State.
• CCU got off to an early lead in the 12th minute when Martinet scored her third goal of the season off an assist from Ziegenfuss and Rapp.
• The Red Wolves equalized in the 50th minute on a goal from Keelyn Peacock and went on to take the lead in the 62nd minute when Darby Stotts netted Arkansas State's second goal of the match to make the score 2-1.
• Coastal trailed in shots 12-8, corners 5-1, fouls 12-8, and led 5-2 in saves.

 Scouting the Opponent

• Texas State has a 6-4-2, 1-1-2 Sun Belt record.
• Last time out, the Bobcats suffered a 1-0 defeat to Georgia State.
• Victoria Meza is not shy about taking aim on goal as she ranks fifth in the Sun Belt with 2.50 shots per game and has placed 12 of her 22 shots on frame while netting two goals.
• Four Bobcats in Zoe Junior, Mady Soumare, Olivia Wright, and Halle Garcia have each scored three goals on the season
• On Sept. 12, Caitlyn Draper was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-high 11 saves in a shutout over the University of Houston. The keeper has a 3-1-2 record in goal and has made 27 saves on the year.

• The Chants will be looking to snap their three-match losing streak to the Bobcats.
