JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. - The Coastal Carolina men's golf team concluded its second round of play at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate today, as tomorrow's final 18 holes loom on deck.
Yesterday, CCU shot an opening round 286 (-2), finishing fifth just two shots ahead of conference-rival Georgia Southern, and eight behind outright leader Furman (-10, 278).
Today, the Chants dropped eight shots, pushing their two-day tournament score back to +6 (582). CCU currently sits at 12th on the team leaderboard, one shot ahead of 13th-placed Virginia Tech at +7.
Junior Ludvig Eriksson leads the Chants on the individual leaderboard in a share for 20th at even par. Eriksson shot a 73 (E) in today's round, recording a team-high five birdies.
After shooting a 70 (-2) in the opening round, graduate Seth Taylor finished the day at +4 (76), setting him back to a +2 heading into tomorrow's final 18.
Rounding out the scorecard for Coastal, individual participant Connor Bennink and sophomore Owen Kim are T-45th (+2), and freshmen Jack Lee and senior Garrett Cooper are each T-53rd (+4).
After 36 holes, host East Tennessee State claims the top spot at -13 (563), followed by Charlotte (-10, 566) and Furman (-3, 573) rounding out the top three.
Round three of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. ET, with the Chants teeing off with the second group at 9:20 a.m. ET.
