CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will return to the HTC Center for a home matchup with the UNC Pembroke Braves in Conway, S.C., on Sunday, Dec. 10. The opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET and will be streamed on ESPN+.
1,000 CAREER POINTS
Coastal's
Deaja Richardson recorded her 1,000th career point in the Chanticleers last outing at Alabama. The Kernersville, N.C., native needed just 15 points to reach the 1,000-career points milestone and needs 204 points to become the 19th Chanticleer to reach the 1,000-point mark in the Teal and Bronze.
LAST TIME OUT
The Chanticleers fell to the Alabama 88-46 on the road. Coastal's Richardson led three Chants in double digit scoring with 15 points, while
Makaila Cange and
Arin Freeman added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Cange was the top rebounder having grabbed eight boards, while
Dalanna Carter pulled down seven rebounds off the bench.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND UNC PEMBROKE
Coastal Carolina and UNC Pembroke will be meeting for the ninth time dating back to 1979-80. The all-time series is even at 4-4 with the Chanticleers looking for their fifth consecutive win over the Braves.

As a team, UNC Pembroke is averaging 63.8 points per contest while shooting 38.0 percent from the floor and 21.5 percent from three-point range. Defensively, the Braves have allowed just 59.1 points per contest and its opponents to shoot 34.8 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from behind the arch. Pembroke has lost the rebound battle 300-290.
Zaria Clark, Kalaya Hall, Kelci Adams, and Hannah Russell are scoring in double digits with 14.8, 14.0, 11.5, and 10.7 points per game, respectively. UNC Pembroke's top rebounder is Clark with 7.5 boards per game with Russell and Lillian Flantos have grabbed 5.0 rebounds per game.
