CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team will look to return to its winning ways this week, as the Chanticleers will head south to take on the College of Charleston on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. ET.
The match was originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10, but was washed out due to rain.
The Chanticleers are 4-1 this season and are coming off a 5-2 loss at home to UNCW on Feb. 7. However, Coastal is undefeated this season versus in-state foes with two wins over The Citadel and one win each over South Carolina State and Francis Marion.
The CofC Cougars are 1-2 on their spring slate but are coming off a 4-3 win on the road at Belmont Abbey on Feb. 7.
Coastal has been dominant in doubles play, having gone 10-0 overall entering Wednesday's action, led by three wins each from the team of
Steve Mundt and
Carlos Berna Ruiz and the duo of
Lucas Wayenburg and
Neil O'Connor.
In singles play,
Maj Tomac leads the Chants with a 4-1 overall record and has won each of his last two singles bouts, while teammates
Ryuya Ata (3-2), Mundt (3-2), and
Guilherme Toresan (3-1) all have three wins apiece on the season.
