CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina will return home this weekend, March 3-5, to host the Davidson Wildcats for a three-game non-conference series at Springs Brooks Stadium. The three-game stretch will be the first of eight consecutive home games for the Chanticleers over the next two weeks.

ABOUT THE CHANTS
• Coastal Carolina will open up an eight-game homestand this weekend versus the Davidson Wildcats.
• The Chanticleers are 4-4 overall on the season and 4-3 at home inside Springs Brooks Stadium.
• Coastal has dropped each of its last two contests entering the weekend but is looking for its third weekend series win this year.
• As a team, the Chants are hitting .315 overall with seven different players hitting over .300 on the season, yet have driven in only 59 RBIs, three more than their opponents.
• In the Chants' four wins this season they have scored double-digit runs, while in the four losses they have lost, they have scored five runs or less for the contest.
• Coastal's pitching staff has struck out 85 hitters compared to just 40 walks this season and posted an average of 10.8 strikeouts per nine innings on the year.
ABOUT THE WILDCATS
• Davidson enters the weekend at 5-3 overall, with all eight of its games to date coming at home at Wilson Field.
• The Wildcats have won three-straight games, scoring double-digit runs in each of those contests on the way to the win.
• For the first time, Davidson was picked to finish atop the Atlantic 10 Conference baseball race in the 12-team preseason poll.
• Last year, the Wildcats won their first outright regular-season conference title, going 20-4 in league play and finishing with a school-record 43 wins.
• The Wildcats returned many key contributors this season, including catcher Michael Carico and pitcher Ryan Feczko, the A-10 Player of the Year and A-10 Rookie of the Year, respectively, as well as all-conference honorees Bennett Flynn (pitcher), Jacob Hinderleider (shortstop), and Ryan Wilson (first base).
ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY WITH DAVIDSON
• The Chanticleers hold a 6-4 edge over the Davidson Wildcats in the all-time series, with the two teams having played just once since 1992.
• Coastal and Davidson played back in 2021, with the Chants defeating the Wildcats 15-5.
• Prior to the last meeting, the Chants and Wildcats had not played since 1992. The two teams played three times in 1992, five times in 1991, and once in 1989.
OLD TIME FOES
• Coastal Carolina and Davidson will be meeting for just the second time since 1992, with the last meeting coming back as part of the Baseball at the Beach Tournament in Conway in 2021.
• Prior to CCU's 15-5 win over Davidson in 2021, the two teams had not played each other since 1992.
• For two seasons in 1991 and 1992, the two teams played each other as Big South Conference opponents, splitting the two three-game conference series matchups at 3-3 each.
SPRING BREAK STAYCATION
• Coastal Carolina University's Spring Break is March 4-12; however, the Coastal Carolina baseball team will use it as a staycation.
• Over Spring Break, the Chants will host seven home games with three contests versus Davidson (March 3-5), a midweek matchup versus No. 2/5 Wake Forest (March 7), and three more games versus Illinois (March 10-12).

• It has been a run of twos thus far this season for the Chanticleers, as the Men in Teal won their first two games and then lost two straight contests.
• Coastal then won each of its next two games in the three-game series versus Creighton before dropping each of its last two games entering play this weekend versus Davidson (March 3-5).
