CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team will return to action at the Stetson Beach Invitational in Deland, Fla., on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25. The Sandy Chants will battle No. 17 Stetson, No. 14 Florida Atlantic, North Alabama, and (RV) Florida Gulf Coast over the two days.
Coastal Carolina enters the week at 13-6 overall on the season after picking up a pair of wins versus UNCW and Erskine at home on Wednesday and the Chants are currently on a seven-match winning streak.
Coastal's duo of
Raychel Ehlers and
Madison Allred lead the way at the No. 4 position having won seven straight and are 9-1 in their last 10 matches, while at the No. 1 flight,
Martine Kragholm and
Sarah Riedell have won five consecutive matches. Also winning five straight matches for the Sandy Chants, on court No. 3
Sarlota Svobodova and
Madie Lichty, as well as
Ellie Hanford and
Elena Sanchez at flight No. 2.
The No. 17 Hatters are 9-7 on the season, with a loss to No. 13 Long Beach State, while the No. 14 Owls enter play having won their last outing on March 18 versus No. 14 FIU in Miami, Fla.
North Alabama is riding a three-match winning streak to run its record to 12-7 on the year. FGCU enters the weekend at 8-6 overall on the year, including winning 3-of-4 last weekend.
COASTAL & STETSON HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the ninth time, as the Sandy Chants trail in the all-time series 8-0. The Chanticleers and Hatters last met last year.
COASTAL & FAU HISTORY
The two teams will face off for just the third time, as the Sandy Chants trail in the all-time series 2-0.
COASTAL & NORTH ALABAMA HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the fifth time, as the Sandy Chants lead in the all-time series 4-0. The Chanticleers have won the last four meetings in a series that began in April 2019.
COASTAL & FGCU HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the 10th time, as the Sandy Chants trail in the all-time series 9-0. The Chanticleers have won all six meetings in a series that began in 2016.
