Chanticleers host Mount St. Mary’s on Tuesday and Liberty on Thursday
CONWAY, S.C. – Coming off a doubleheader sweep of Longwood and UNCG on Sunday, March 5, the Coastal Carolina women's tennis team will return to the courts to host both Mount St. Mary's and Liberty this week over spring break.
The Chanticleers will host Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday, March 7, at 10 a.m. ET and the Liberty Flames on Thursday, March 9, at 10 a.m. ET.
Coastal enters the week at 4-4 overall, but more importantly, has won four-straight matches. Over the four-match win streak, the Chants have defeated Presbyterian (Feb. 20), Campbell (Feb. 23), Longwood (March 5), and UNCG (March 5).
The Chants have used a total team effort in the current winning streak, as four Chants have won each of their last four singles contests in Victoire De Samucewicz, Anna Babayan, Megan Hopton, and Jesse Hollins, while in doubles play, the Chanticleers have not lost a match over their last four matches, highlighted by four consecutive wins from the duo of Babayan and Hopton and the team of Lilie Steryous and Tatum Burger.
Mount St. Mary's is just 1-3 overall on the spring season and enters the week having dropped each of their last three matches on the road at West Virginia (Feb. 11), George Mason (Feb. 18), and Saint Joseph's (Feb. 25).
Liberty is 9-4 overall on the season and is coming off a 5-2 win over William & Mary on Sunday, March 5. The Flames' four losses have come to FIU (Jan. 15), Maryland (Feb. 10), Virginia Tech (Feb. 18), and No. 32 Charlotte (March 3).
