CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team will wrap up the regular season at the Palmetto Invitational hosted by No. 16 South Carolina on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15. The Chanticleers will battle Jacksonville, No. 16 South Carolina, (RV) Florida Gulf Coast, and the College of Charleston.
Coastal Carolina enters the week at 20-9 overall on the season and receiving votes in the AVCA poll after finishing 3-1 last weekend. CCU picked up a pair of wins on the final day of the Coastal Carolina Invitational, as the Sandy Chants fell to in-state rival Charleston (4-1) just before rebounding for three straight wins over Tampa (4-1), Jacksonville (4-1), and Erskine (5-0) in Conway, S.C.
Coastal's duo of
Raychel Ehlers and
Madison Allred lead the way at 23-6 on the season at the No. 4 flight, having gone 7-3 in their last 10 matches.
COASTAL & COLLEGE of CHARLESTON HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the 13th time, as the Sandy Chants trail in the all-time series 8-4. The Chanticleers fell 4-1 in the last meeting with the Cougars at the Coastal Carolina Invitational just last weekend.
COASTAL & No. 16 SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORY
The Chants and Gamecocks will meet for the 12th time, as the Sandy Chants have never beaten the Gamecocks and trail in the all-time series 11-0. The Chanticleers are looking for their first-ever win over in-state foe USC in a series that began in 2016.
COASTAL & JACKSONVILLE HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the 14th time as the Sandy Chants lead the all-time series 9-4. The Chanticleers have won the last nine matches, including a 5-0 sweep on April 1 in a neutral site meeting.
COASTAL & (RV) FLORIDA GULF COAST HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the 11th time, as the Sandy Chants trail in the all-time series 10-0. The Chanticleers are looking for their first-ever win over the Eagles in a series that began in 2016.
