CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will close out the road portion of the 2023 regular season, as the Chanticleers will travel to Jacksonville, Fla., on Thursday, April 20 and DeLand, Fla., on Saturday, April 22 to take on ASUN rivals the Jacksonville Dolphins and Stetson Hatters. The opening draw with Jacksonville is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, while the Hatters and Chants will begin at noon ET.
Coastal enters the contest at 9-5 overall and 2-2 in conference action after falling 14-13 in a back-and-forth road contest with Lindenwood last Sunday.
The Dolphins enter play at 7-6 on the year and 3-1 in league play, while the Hatters are 8-6 overall and 1-3 in ASUN action.
COASTAL vs. JACKSONVILLE HISTORY
The Chanticleers trail in the all-time series 8-2 and are 1-4 in road contests versus the Dolphins. In the last meeting, Coastal Carolina fell 20-7 on the road to Jacksonville in May 2022.
COASTAL vs. STETSON HISTORY
The Chanticleers lead the all-time series 7-0 with a 4-0 road record versus Stetson. Coastal Carolina is averaging 17 goals per game compared to 8.43 goals per game for the Hatters in the seven meetings. In the last meeting, Coastal won 23-13 on the road over the Hatters in April 2022.

The CCU offense is led by
Kayla Downey (46 goals, 32 assists) with 78 points, while
Avery McIlwaine (31 goals, 15 assists),
Sydney McClure (13 goals, 15 assists), and
Avery Snyder (7 goals, 17 assists) are close behind with 46, 28, and 24 points, respectively. The offense has been ignited by
Devin Rybacki and McIlwaine, as the duo has won 48 and 36 draw controls each.
Defensively, the Chants are anchored by their starting goalkeeper
Claire Martell, who has started all 14 contests. The redshirt junior goalie has stopped 91 shots and allowed 107 goals in just over 578 minutes in the cage on the season.
Gabrielle Beckett has forced 12 turnovers, while Martell has grabbed 28 groundballs to help return possession back to the offense.
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE
Jacksonville is led by Sarah Elms (45 goals, 7 assists), Grace Hobson (14 goals, 27 assists), and Lauren Craft (20 goals, 7 assists) with 52, 41, and 27 points, respectively. Brianna Samuels (22 goals, 3 assists), Molly Brock (15 goals, 2 assists), Lauren Ellis (12 goals, 4 assist), and Hudson Gentile (12 goals) have chipped in with double-digit points. Brock and Ellis often get the offense started by winning 56 draw controls each for the Dolphins to lead the team.
Defensively, Jacksonville has split time with goalies Paige Pagano and Addy Tysdal, with Tysdal starting all 13 contests. Pagano (29 goals allowed, 28 saves) and Tysdal (90 goals allowed, 78 saves) have combined to allow 119 goals and make 106 saves in the 300 shots faced. Maddie Sturgell leads the Dolphins with 16 caused turnovers each, while Tysdal has scooped up a team-high 22 groundballs.
ABOUT STETSON
The Hatters are led by Kaitlin Pani (39 goals, 14 assists) and Samantha Paglino (21 goals, 25 assists) with 53 and 46 points, respectively. Jessica Duggan (27 goals, 7 assists) and Jordyn Humphrey (27 goals, 6 assists) have chipped in with more than 30 points each. Josie Young (56), Aine Williams (41), and Molly Kearney (40) often get the offense started by winning a combined 137 draw controls for Stetson to lead the team.
Defensively, the Hatters have started Sydney Heimann in all 14 contests. Heimann has made 108 saves while allowing 179 goals in nearly 787 minutes in the cage for Stetson. Mia Judd leads the team with 18 caused turnovers, while Heimann has scooped up a team-high 49 groundballs.
