CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team will open up the 2023 regular season versus the Winthrop Eagles at the CCU Soccer Stadium on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.

- CCU will kick off its regular season with three straight home matches versus Winthrop (Aug. 24), William & Mary (Aug. 28), and USC Upstate (Sept. 1).
- This is the first of nine home matches that will take place at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
- The 2023 season will mark Shaun Docking's 26th season as the head coach of the men's soccer team where he has posted a 306-148-50 overall record while winning 12 regular season championships (9 Big South, 3 Sun Belt), 11 conference tournament championships (7 Big South, 4 Sun Belt), along with making 10 NCAA appearances.
- Since the program's creation in 1978, CCU has posted a 26-14-2 overall record in season-opening matches.

- The Chants played three exhibition matches against Charlotte, Francis Marion, and Virginia Tech in preparation for the start of the regular season.
- The last three exhibitions have given head coach Docking the chance to test the legs of a variety of newcomers and allowed him to look at different types and groups of players to determine what style of play will work best this season.
History Against
- The Chants have a 7-1 overall record against Winthrop.
- The first matchup came in 2010, when CCU took down the Eagles 2-1 at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
- Coastal has a 3-0 home record against Winthrop.
- CCU has shut out the Eagles on three occasions in 2011, 2012, and 2014.
- The Chants are currently sitting on a four-match win streak and have outscored the Eagles 10-4 in their last four matchups.
