Chants have two players among the top 25 after two rounds

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team sits in ninth place at the Lady Paladin Invitational at 18-over 594 after the second round at the Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, S.C., on Saturday.

Hanna Karg leads the Chanticleers in scoring after two rounds with a two-over 146 (72-74). She enters the final round tied for 20th, while fellow first-year Chant, Varatkarn Kunkaew, is just one shot back with a three-over 147 (74-73). She is tied for 23rd heading into Sunday's round.

Junior Sara Sarrion matched yesterday's round with another three-over 75 and is tied for 43rd at six-over 150 (75-75) and Luisa Gibson is tied for 52nd after completing today's action with a seven-over 151 (76-75).

Isabella Galla stands nine-over 153 (76-77) and is tied for 65th. Isabella Spinazze continued her play as an individual and shot a solid two-over 74 in today's round and is tied for 59th at eight-over 152 (78-74).

Host Furman stands alone in first place with a one-under 575 (285-290). Western Kentucky (285-292), North Florida (290-287), and Augusta (287-290) are all tied at one-over 577 just two strokes behind the Lady Paladins. James Madison rounds out the top five with a seven-over 583 (290-293).

Nevada stands sixth with an 11-over 587 (295-292) and Old Dominion is seventh at 16-over 592 (297-292), and Charlotte is eighth at 17-over 593 (300-293). The Chants are only one shot back in ninth at 18-over 594 (297-297), while Georgia State (295-300) rounds out the top 10 with a 19-over 595.

Finalizing the field are Memphis (+20, 596), Xavier (+21, 597), East Carolina (+22, 598), Tulane (+29, 605), UNCW (+30, 606), and Daytona State College (+44, 620).

The third round is scheduled to begin Sunday at 9:00 a.m. ET.
