CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team concluded play today at the CCU Battle at the Beach with another solid performance from its seniors. 

CCU started off the day with a singles matchup against a familiar foe in the Campbell Fighting Camels. Seniors Carlos Berna Ruiz and Jesus Garcia picked up a singles win, with Garcia recording his second of the weekend. Seniors Ryuya Ata and Goncalo Ferreira each suffered tough losses in the third set of their first match, with Ata losing 10-5 (1) in the final set and Ferriera losing 14-12. 

After going 2-3 against Campbell, the Chants then faced Wofford for a third time this weekend, a team that Coastal defeated five times yesterday in both singles and doubles play. Today, the Chants went 4-3 against the Terriers, as Berna Ruiz, Guilherme Toresan, Ferreira, and Lucas Wayenburg each added to their singles win tally. 

Up Next: The Chants next tournament will be the ITA Carolina Regionals in Cary, N.C., starting Friday, Oct. 20, through Tuesday, Oct. 24.
