Cross Country Set to Host Chanticleer Challenge

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's and women's cross country teams are set to host the Chanticleer Challenge tomorrow at the Hackler Golf Course in Conway, S.C.
Coastal will welcome Francis Marion, UNC Willimington, The Citadel, and Campbell to Conway in both the men's and women's events.
Last time out, the Chants finished sixth as a team in the men's 6k event and fifth in the women's 5k meet at the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, N.C.
On the women's side, senior Molly Jones, juniors Ellie Wolski and Amilia Wise-Sweat, and freshmen Erin McQuitty, Mary Kathryn Huddleston, and Olivia Goeser will once again be running for the Chants.
Junior Tiarra Smith and freshman Katelyn Porter mark their return for Coastal. Porter and Smith finished 30th and 35th in the 4k meet at the Buccaneer Open to start the season.
Sophomore Ella Lehmann and freshman Megan Dolan will also be competing in the women's 5k, but as unattached participants.
Jones came in seventh with a 17:29.4 time in the women's 5k in Cary, while Wolski finished 13th with a time of 17:39.3.
For the men's team, senior Nehemiah Cionelo led all CCU runners at the XC Challenge with a 35th place finish in the men's 6k, as all of the Chants finished inside the top 100.
Also competing for Coastal will be juniors Ethan Blackwelder, Trey Kraimer, George Werner Jr., and Jack Benoit, and freshmen Adam Groves and Sterling Sellier.
Returning to the lineup will be redshirt junior Julian John, as well as freshmen Jackson Brungart and Sean Clegg.
The meet will start with the women's 5k meet at 5:00 p.m. ET, followed by the men's 8k event at 5:45 p.m. ET.
